B.Ed stands for an undergraduate academic course known as Bachelor of Education. Previously it was known as Bachelor of Training (BT). This is a 2 years programming course for those who are interested in pursuing career in teaching and such related fields. Bachelor of Education course can also be pursued through Distance Learning or Correspondence Course learning that is also 2 years of duration course. Students from Arts stream can able to trained to teach subjects like Civics, History, Geography and Languages and students from Science Stream are trained to teach Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. • Students also need to appear in the entrance exam or test conducted by different states and Independent educational universities and boards for admission in various teaching institutions attached with it as per the ranking of the candidates in the entrance exam.
• The entrance exams are mainly held in the month of June-July which consists of Objective type questions about English, General Knowledge, Basic Arithmetic Teaching Potentiality, Aptitude and one local language in some states. The result of the subjects will out by July-August. Candidates, who will pass the exam, then go through the practical training courses, apart from theory classes.
